There are two visitor centers on our route: There is the standard national park entrance fee of $15 to ride on Skyline Drive through the park ( nps.gov ), or free with your lifetime over 62 America the Beautiful National Parks Lifetime Pass (like yours truly □□) The Skyline Drive, the only public road in Shenandoah National Park, runs north and south along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Shenandoah National Park was established in 1935, is made up of 199,173 acres, and hosts around 1.2 million visitors a year. The map combines both the Blue Ridge Parkway with Skyline Drive inside Shenandoah National Park to cover almost 600 miles of scenic driving. Skyline Drive extends to the Blue Ridge Parkway through Virginia. Lewis Mountain Cabins offer the fireside experiences of camping with the comforts of a motel. The major feature of the park is Skyline Drive, which winds for 105-miles on the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains from the north entrance at Front Royal to the terminus at the Blue Ridge Parkway south in Waynesboro. Gather by the fire of your outdoor grill pit and serve sizzling BBQ at the sheltered picnic table at your cabin.
